To answer the question, I don't think there has been any player who played both in the NBA and MLB at the same time and season. Danny Ainge was once an major leaguer with the Toronto Blue Jays, but he left baseball once he was drafted by the Celtics.

I know Michael Jordan retired from basketball and tried to play baseball for a season and wasn't very succesful.

Danny Ainge of the Boston Celtics was a professional baseball player before he played basketball.

But i don't think there has been a player who has played both at the same time on the professional level.
