What NBA team(s) could be sleepers during the 2007-2008 season?

In the East, I believe the Bobcats are a sleeper team. They finally have a go-to scorer with Richardson which opens up a lot for the rest of the team: Felton will take fewer shots and can become more of a pass-first point guard and both Gerald Wallace and Okafor will take fewer shots which means they can spend more energy on the defensive end. Matt Carroll's a beast behind the 3-point line and Walter Herrmann emerged near the end of last year as a versatile scorer. Also, with the draft of all-around forward Jared Dudley and the current mix of veterans and young guys on the bench, I believe this team has a chance to surprise some people and maybe make some noise in the playoffs...if they can stay healthy.

This is my east sleeper team and I really cannot come up with a sleeper team for the west. Who do you think will be sleeper teams of the 2007-2008 NBA season?

east:

bucks - they were a playoff contender last year before redd's attempted dunk during a garbage time in denver that cost him to sideline for months. they have a young core in mo wiliams, bogut, villanueva, redd, charli bell and yi.

bobcats - i agree with you. they are also my sleepers in the east. with a healthy frontcourt of g dub and okafor plus matt carroll, adam morrison and j rich, they will have a reason to believe.

hawks - with joe johnson, one of the most versatile offensive players plus the beast on the defensive end josh smith and rookies horford and acie law, this team will be good.. plus young projects josh childress and marvin williams, big men shelden and pachulia, they'll improve their record from last year.

west:

grizzlies - im picking them to be the number 8 seed out west. remember that a pau gasol healthy year equals a playoff appearance for the last couple of years for this team. they have nice off season pick ups in casey jacobsen, milicic and navarro, one of the best in europe. they also have a young point guard with a lot of potential in mike conley jr.

hornets- a healthy hornets team will make a run in post season.cp3 is one of the best at his position plus the improving tyson chandler and david west and vets peja, bobby jackson and mo pete.. this team should do good this coming season.

I don't see Philly being a sleeper team. They do have some young talent...but too many teams in the East got better, while they did nothing. But hey, they had no business winning games last year either.

If I had to pick a sleeper, I'd look in the general direction of the Milwaukee Bucks. This team has too much talent to be a bottom feeder again.

Redd

Charlie V

Bogut

Bobby Simmons

Mo Williams

Charlie Bell (for now)

Yi

Desmond Mason

If Yi turns out to be anything special, they should be alright.

They're gonna have a lethal inside-outside combo with Redd and Mason complementing Bogut and Villanueva

I also think the Grizz and Hornets can make some noise out West. Bobcats in the East is a good choice. They are indeed loaded.

.
My pick is the chicago bulls

why?

bcuz they r very underrated. every1 thinks that it will either be

Boston, Detriot or Miami and maybe even cleveland to win the east but no one thinks it will be the chicago bulls.

They got the most talent in the east. With hinrich at PG, gordon at SG, Deng at SF, Smith at PF and wallace at C added to that is an excellent bench with players such as Tyrus Thomas, thabo sefolosha, andres nocioni, chris duhon and rookies joakim noah, Aaron gray. They also have one of the best coaches in scott skiles

The will take the east no doubt and they are the sleeper team of the 2007-2008 season.
Pistons. They will do alot better than last year and avenge the Cavs
The Bobcats. They've improved. But let's see if Jordan's still got the touch...
east sleeper is definitely the Bobcats.....

west sleeper is hard to tell
East 76ers

West Hornets
i think most people is bias with they answer but for some reason am feeling Memphis. i don't really have a favorite team but i can see the Nets Vs Suns in the final.
watch out for the Pacers, I think that organization is tired of not winning and is gonna do somethin' about it.
toronto raptors
These teams definitely have the talent, but they just have to put it together.

East - Milwaukee %26amp; NY

West - NO %26amp; Denver
The sleeper team in the East is New Jersey Nets. They actually have a center to play this year. Jefferson is back from injury. Kidd has a new backup so he can play fewer minutes and stay fresh for the playoffs.

The sleeper team in the West is surprisingly, Dallas. They are ready to win 60 plus games again and will go far.
76ers they won 9 out of their final 15 games and Igoudala is mature and Andre Miller can pass.
I agree with Bobcats on the East. They've made the biggest improvements on their team that will kick in immediately. The loss of Sean May will be hard on them, but I think Walter Herrmann will have a really good opportunity to shine.

On the west, I'm going to say Memphis. With a healthy Gasol, the addition of Navarro and Conley, and the breakout of Gay, I think they'll have a solid chance of being a surprise in the West.
